stein is a mad scientist, teacher, (unqualified) doctor, and skilled weapon meister at the DWMA, who lacks empathy and has a constant urge to vivisect everyone and everything around him, often ending in his peers waking up missing an organ or two, also evident in the stitches going through his face, his clothes, his house and his shoes, which is a hobby he has engaged in since childhood. he was previously partners with spirit, before he found out through his (ex) wife that he had been experimenting on him in his sleep, leading to spirit working with his ex, until he began working with death.
